Attleboro, MA. The Northeast Generals opened up the 2019-2020 season vs new team and new rival the Maine Nordiques. The Generals came out flying in period 1 but were unable to solve Maine Committ and Nordiques goalie Connor Androlewicz (Connor turned back 34/35 shots on the game). And with the momentum in the Generals favor the Nordiques were able to steal the momentum as they scored first on a goal by Jacob Crespo 13 minutes into the first period. The scored remaind 1-0 after 20.
In the scond period the Maine offense got going and they saw goals from Makem Demers and Emmanual Sanchez while outshooting the Generals 14-7. The Generals trailed 3-0.
The third period saw some life from the Generals as they came out flying but an early penalty saw the momentum shift again and Cannon Green was able to score on the Power Play to increase the lead to 4-0. Tyler Cooper was able to score on the Power Play a few minutes later to cut the deficit to 4-1. Despite putting up 19 shots to the Nordiques 4 the Cooper strike would be the lone goal as the Nordiques added an empty net one to close out the opener 5-1.
