Gordon Commits to Ohio State

The Northeast Generals of the NAHL are proud to announce that 2 year Forward Ryan Gordon has committed to play NCAA D1 hockey at Ohio State.

Ryan came to the Generals in an early season trade during the 2020-21 season and was a staple in the lineup for 2 seasons.  In 20-21 Ryan played 48 games and had 7 goals and 8 assists for 15 points.  He followed up his freshman campaign with a monster 2021-22 season.  Last season Ryan has 22 goals and 31 assists for 53 points.  He added a goal and an assist in 5 playoff games.

His big year allowed Ryan to be drafted 32nd overall by the Sioux Falls Stampede.  In 3 games with the Stampede Ryan has had 2 goals and 2 assists for 4 points.

“Ryan was a great player at Mount St. Charles which is very close to us and we loved his game there.  When he became available early in 2020 it was a no brainer to go get him.  His 200 foot game immediately put him in the lineup every game, playing in key situations.  His tireless work ethic allowed him to elevate his game quickly and improve his production.  I don’t think there was a day when he wasn’t working to get better.  Just an amazing kid that worked so hard on all aspects of his game.  It obviously showed last year with his production.  But it never really mattered what his production was because he is so good in all 3 zones.  Great in the faceoff dot, great in the corners and hard to contain in open ice.  We are so happy for Ryan.  Ohio State is getting a great player but an even better person.”  Said Generals Head Coach Bryan Erikson.

Generals GM Matt Dibble added “I am so happy for Ryan and can’t wait to watch him as a Buckeye.  Great kid that has worked for everything he has received.”
