Rob Liberatore, Director of Scouting
Rob brings a great hockey mind to the Generals and has been involved scouting in the NAHL, USHL and T1EHL. He does a great job of communicating with the players and parents and has been a huge asset to the Generals. Rob played for the Boston Advantage, Valley Jr. Warriors and at UMASS Boston, NCAA.
Neil Liston, Director of International Scouting
Neil has been involved in the sport of hockey his entire life as a player, coach, general manager and scout. Several years ago Neil started HG Sports, a hockey operations company that focus on the development of players both and off of the ice. He has a vast network of contacts around the world that he uses to help place players with the proper teams.
His yearly European showcase teams have helped create a large number of player placements. Neil has placed players in the QMJHL, NCAA, NAHL and many professional hockey teams all over Europe. Neil currently is the owner of the East Coast Minutemen of the NA3HL, an Affiliate team of the Northeast Generals NAHL team.
Cory Hunt, Director of Midwest Scouting
Cory Hunt is in his first year as Director of Midwest Scouting with the Northeast Generals. The Cottage Grove, Minnesota native will be responsible for scouting prospective players in the Midwest region for the Generals. He has spent parts of the last three seasons scouting for the Michigan Warriors and the Springfield Jr. Blues in the NAHL. He is currently also a scout for the Twin City Steel in the NA3HL.
Cody Gonyeau, Director of Mid-American Scouting
Cody Gonyeau will be serving his first year as Head Coach for the Cleveland Wildcats 15U AAA hockey team this season. Growing up in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, a town notably known as “The Original Hockey Town, U.S.A.,” Gonyeau played travel hockey in the Sault Michigan Hockey Association, also competing in Canadian Hockey leagues organized in Sault Sainte Marie, ON. During high school, he played for the Sault High Blue Devil Varsity Hockey Team and graduated as alumni in the year 2009.
Gonyeau obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Secondary Education from Central Michigan University. His certified areas of teaching are in Physical Education, Special Education, Health Education, and Mathematics. Gonyeau has been part the Cleveland Saint Ignatius hockey program (current back-to-back OHSAA State Champions) for 2 years and recently was an assistant coach for the Saint Ignatius Gold team that claimed the 2017 JV State Championship.
